SUMMARY:Translating Conflict and Refuge: Language\, displacement\, and the
  politics of representation

DESCRIPTION:This event will bring together translators\, interpreters\, sc
 holars\, refugees\, and NGO representatives to develop a deeper understand
 ing of the complex demands and realities involved in translating conflict 
 and refuge. Our aim is to create a space for meaningful exchange as well a
 s to generate concrete opportunities for collaboration. Plenary talks in t
 he morning will be offered in hybrid format\; parallel sessions in the aft
 ernoon will be in person only and will take the form of standard papers de
 livered in thematic panels. This conference addresses topics related to ar
 med conflict and forced displacement\, including discussion of violence an
 d humanitarian crises\, and their impacts on individuals and communities. 
 Some sessions may reference traumatic experiences.
