  Imperial College London. We are delighted to welcome Professor David Hand
  OBE\, who will deliver a talk based on his latest book\, What’s the Que
 stion? Deciding What You Really Want to Know:\nBefore any effective data a
 nalysis can be undertaken\, we must be clear about the precise question we
  wish to answer and ensure that it is accurately represented in statistica
 l terms. Ambiguous questions or inappropriate analytical approaches can le
 ad to misleading conclusions and poor decisions. In this talk\, Professor 
 Hand will explore this challenge through a range of examples\, demonstrati
 ng how the most obvious method is not always the most appropriate one\, fr
 om straightforward problems to complex statistical applications.\nTo celeb
