  and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis\, where they will talk a
 bout monetary policy and recent economic trends.Meet our speaker and chair
 LSE alumnus Alberto G Musalem is the president and CEO of the Federal Rese
 rve Bank of St. Louis. In this role\, he participates on the Federal Reser
 ve’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC)\, which sets the direction of 
 U.S. monetary policy. He also oversees the activities of the Eighth Federa
 l Reserve District which spans all of Arkansas and parts of Illinois\, Ind
 iana\, Kentucky\, Mississippi\, Missouri and Tennessee.Ricardo Reis is the
  A.W. Phillips Professor of Economics at LSE. Recent honours include the 2
 022 Carl Menger prize\, the 2021 Yrjo Jahnsson medal\, election for the Ec
 onometric Society in 2019\, the 2017 BdF/TSE junior prize\, and the 2016 B
 ernacer prize. He is an academic consultant at the Bank of England\, the R
 iksbank\, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond\, directs the Centre fo
 r Macroeconomics\, and serves on the council of\, or as an advisor to\, mu
