  Galhau\, Honorary Governor of the Banque de France.Meet our speaker and c
 hairFrançois Villeroy de Galhau served as Governor of the Banque de Franc
 e from November 2015 until June 2026. He is a member of the Governing Coun
 cil of the European Central Bank and Chairman of the Autorité de contrôl
 e prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR – Prudential Supervision and Resolu
 tion Authority). In 2022\, he was also appointed Chair of the Board of Dir
 ectors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). After graduating f
 rom ENA as an Inspector of Finance\, he went on to join the French Treasur
 y in 1988. He subsequently held various positions in ministerial offices a
 nd in Brussels\, before being appointed Chief of Staff for the Minister of
  the Economy\, Finance and Industry in 1997\, and Head of the French Gener
 al Tax Directorate in 2000. In 2003 he was appointed Chief Executive Offic
 er of Cetelem\, and in 2008 became Head of French Retail Banking at BNP Pa
 ribas. From December 2011 to May 2015 he served as Chief Operating Officer
  of BNP Paribas Group. He is the author of several books including L’Esp
 érance d’un Européen (Odile Jacob\, 2014) and Retrouver confiance en l
 ’économie (Odile Jacob\, 2021).Ricardo Reis (@R2Rsquared) is the A.W. P
 hillips Professor of Economics at LSE. Recent honours include the 2022 Car
 l Menger prize\, the 2021 Yrjo Jahnsson medal\, election for the Econometr
 ic Society in 2019\, the 2017 BdF/TSE junior prize\, and the 2016 Bernacer
  prize. He is an academic consultant at the Bank of England\, the Riksbank
 \, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond\, directs the Centre for Macro
 economics\, and serves on the council of\, or as an advisor to\, multiple
