 speaker and chairIndira Ray is a social media presenter who recently compl
 eted her undergraduate studies in Psychological and Behavioural Science at
  LSE. For the past three years\, alongside her degree\, she has worked as 
 a Content Creator at LSE\, producing over 100 short- and long-form videos 
 for an audience of more than two million followers across TikTok\, Instagr
 am\, Facebook\, YouTube and LinkedIn. Her work spans research explainers\,
  documentary episodes and live event coverage — translating complex acad
 emic\, political and economic ideas into accessible digital storytelling. 
 In September\, Indira will join Bloomberg as a Trainee Journalist.Adele Ze
 ynep Walton is a British-Turkish journalist reporting on the human impact
 s of digital technology and social media and the author of Logging Off: T
 he Human Cost of Our Digital World. Having channelled a personal loss int
 o campaigning for a safe digital future\, Adele is an online safety camp
 aigner with Families and Survivors to Prevent Online Suicide Harm and B
 ereaved Families for Online Safety. She regularly works with parliamentar
 ians and policy-makers\, bereaved families and parents to campaign for tec
 h accountability and suicide prevention. Adele has been interviewed by Rad
 io 4\, The Times\, BBC News\, Channel 4\, 5Live\, CBC\, Al Jazeera\, LBC\,
  Sky News\, The Guardian and many more. Adele has also featured in the doc
 umentary Error 404: The Internet In Crisis. She is also a member of the 
 Online Safety Act Network \, a Founding Member of EU youth movement Ctrl
  + Alt + Reclaim and recently spoke at Davos. She is also the co-founder 
 of Logging Off Club\, a global movement promoting community and connectio
 n through their phone-free events.Nick Couldry is Professor of Media\, Com
 munications and Social Theory Emeritus and Professorial Research Fellow in
  the Department of Media and Communications at LSE. As a sociologist of me
 dia and culture\, he approaches media and communications from the perspect
 ive of the symbolic power that has been historically concentrated in media
  institutions. He is interested in how media and communications institutio
 ns and infrastructures contribute to various types of order (social\, poli
 tical\, cultural\, economic\, ethical). His work has drawn on\, and contri
 buted to\, social\, spatial\, democratic and cultural theory\, anthropolog
 y\, and media and communications ethics. His analysis of media as ‘pract
 ice’ has been widely influential. In the past 10 years\, his work has in
 creasingly focussed on data questions\, and ethics\, politics and deep soc
 ial implications of Big Data and small data practices.More about this even
