 ernThis public event marks the global launch of Smarter Than the Storm\, a
  new book by Amitabh Kant and Siddharth Sinha\, and explores its core idea
 s in conversation with Nicholas Stern.Drawing on global case studies and l
 ived realities\, the discussion will examine how AI can act as a force mul
 tiplier to counter climate risks\, while addressing challenges such as ene
 rgy intensity\, data concentration\, and sovereignty. The conversation wil
 l explore ideas ranging from sovereign AI and future-ready data centres to
  digital public infrastructure and the systems\, policy\, and finance leve
 rs needed to turn disruption into opportunity and shape a smarter\, cleane
 r\, and more resilient future.Meet our speakers and chairAmitabh Kant is w
 idely regarded as a key architect of India’s modern economic and brand i
 dentity. He has served as India's G20 Sherpa\, CEO of NITI Aayog and the S
 ecretary of Tourism and Secretary of Industry for India. He has driven fla
 gship national initiatives including Startup India\, Make in India\, Incre
 dible India\, the National Green Hydrogen Mission and the National EV Miss
 ion. He currently serves as a senior adviser to Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Co
 rporation\, Fairfax\, and Warburg Pincus\, and sits on the boards of Larse
 n & Toubro\, HCLTech\, ITC\, and IndiGo.Siddharth Sinha specializes in the
  interplay of AI and climate. He has previously worked at NITI Aayog\, the
  G20 Secretariat and Google\, where he helped accelerate AI-enabled climat
 e interventions and co-conceptualized a global air quality management solu
 tion. An electrical engineer from Vellore Institute of Technology with an 
 MPA from the London School of Economics\, he was a Climate Fellow at Yale 
 and a Chevening Fellow at Oxford. He currently works at Greenko.Emma Howar
 d Boyd is the Chair of the independent National Heat Risk Commission\, bas
 ed at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environmen
 t at LSE\, where she is also a Professor in Practice. She served as Chair 
 of the Environment Agency for England from 2016 to 2022 and was an ex offi
 cio board member of the Department for Environment\, Food and Rural Affair
 s during the same period. Currently\, Emma chairs ClientEarth’s Group Bo
 ard and ClimateArc\, and is a co-Chair of HERA (formerly Climate Resilienc
 e for All).Ruth Kattumuri is Senior Director for Economic Development\, Tr
 ade and Investment Directorate at the Commonwealth of Nations. She provide
 s vision\, technical and strategic leadership across economic development\
 , debt management\, climate change\, trade and investment for resilient de
 velopment across the 56 member countries. At LSE\, Ruth is Co-Chair of Ind
 ia Observatory and was formerly a director of Asia Research Centre. She is
  Fellow of Academy of Social Sciences\, is a Cambridge Commonwealth Fellow
  and has her PhD from LSE.Nicholas Stern is IG Patel Chair of Economics an
 d Government and the inaugural Chair of the Global School of Sustainabilit
 y at LSE. His latest book is The Growth Story of the 21st Century: The Eco
