SUMMARY:The runtime revolution: how generative AI is reshaping value and o
 rganisations
LOCATION:London School of Economics: In-person and online public event (Ol
 d Theatre\, Old Building)
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 10 June 2026 6.30pm - 8pmSpeakerProfessor Youngjin Y
ooChairProfessor Sarah AshwinThe modern world is built on principles of sc
arcity: the idea that value falls as supply increases\, that technology an
d systems are designed to produce the same result every time\, and that or
ganisations form to minimise the costs and complications of exchange. Gene
rative computing challenges each of these assumptions. Rather than relying
on scarcity to create value\, generative AI creates value through abundan
ce\, context\, and variation. It generates unique\, situation specific mea
ningful outputs at runtime\, rather than replicating a predetermined desig
 n. In this new environment\, increased supply can generate greater value\,
not less. And firms exist to create and capture value from abundance.Join
Youngjin Yoo for his inaugural lecture\, where he will set out a new agen
da for understanding how this technological and economic shift is reshapin
g value creation\, technological design\, and the organisation.Meet our sp
