The Francis Crick Institute
Crick Lectures are delivered by leading internationally-renowned scientists from the Francis Crick Institute and elsewhere and cover the full spectrum of biomedical research. They aim to be relatively accessible to scientists in all biomedical disciplines, whilst also offering something for the specialist.
The talks are open to scientists from other institutes and universities from across London and beyond. You should have a minimum of graduate-level biological knowledge to attend and fully engage with these talks. Find out how to attend here.

Principal Group Leader Anne O' Garra leads the Immunoregulation lab at the Crick.
Anne O'Garra obtained her PhD in microbiology and undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship in immunology at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR: now part of the Crick).
As an independent group leader at the DNAX Research Institute, California, USA (1987-2001), she defined functions and mechanisms for cytokines in the immune response, for which she was named 2nd of Highly Cited Authors in Immunology, 1992-2002 (ISI Science Indicators).
Anne returned to the UK in 2001 to form the Division of Immunoregulation at NIMR, to interface research in immunology and infectious diseases, and is one of the founding group leaders who moved to the Crick. Her lab studies the regulation of the immune response during immune challenge and infection, to identify immune cells, pathways and targets of protection and pathogenesis determining disease outcome.
Anne is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Royal Society, and is also an EMBO member.
