Architectural Association School of Architecture

January 17

AA Lecture Hall

Distillation of Architecture: 家具 is an exhibition of four new commissions that reimagine furniture and domestic structures to demonstrate how our living spaces can be transformed through architectural and material thinking.

The symposium will be an opportunity to hear from the four Japanese design teams as they present their work and reflect on their working methods and inspirations. The afternoon will conclude with a conversation reflecting on the history of more than 30 years of collaboration between the AA and Maeda.

The symposium will be followed by the Distillation of Architecture: 家具 exhibition opening from 6.30pm onwards in the AA Lecture Hall, Galley and Front Members’ Room.
