Open Cambridge is back this September with over 70 FREE events taking place across Cambridge. Open Cambridge is a celebration of our community, the heritage and history. It highlights stories of Cambridge and the surrounding area. It provides an inclusive platform to showcase extraordinary spaces, places and people. Open Cambridge brings together our community for 10 days to celebrate, discover and explore. Events include: - Tours of the University of Cambridge's Senate House - Tours of the Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory - Garden tours of some of the Colleges - Special exhibitions at St John's Old Library and Sidney Sussex Library - A talk about the Cambridgeshire Regiment in the Far East during WW11 (brand new for this year!) - A visit to the Centre for Material Science which is located in a disused Cold War bunker (brand new for this year!) - Guided walks around the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (brand new for this year!) - Historical walking tours of Cambridge - A talk looking at the 150 year history of the Cambridge Corn Exchange (brand new for this year!) - An open day at the Churchill Archives Centre and the Parker Library at Corpus Christi College - Community events organised by Mill Road History Society, Cambridge Samaritans, Cambridge Quakers, and Cambridge Access Surgery - An open day and special exhibition at the Keate Family Art Trust (brand new for this year!) - An open afternoon at the neo-classical Cambridge Observatory building
