The morning cup of coffee is a ritual that is familiar to billions worldwide – it’s estimated that in the UK alone, 98 million cups of coffee are consumed each day.
But what makes the perfect cup of coffee? The quality of the bean? The temperature of the water used to brew it? Science might just have the answer.
Join Professor Fabian Wadsworth, lead researcher on a recent study that used X-rays and computer simulations to learn more about the espresso-making process, who will share his findings and might just help you take your morning brew to the next level.
This event will be held in Theatre 1 at the Royal Society on Sunday 5 July 2026,12.10pm – 12.40pm.
