The Future of Science with AI: Nobel Prize Dialogue London 2026

The Royal Society

May 26

The Royal Society

A Nobel Prize Dialogue event in partnership with the Royal Society. Join us for a panel discussion with Paul Nurse FRS, Demis Hassabis FRS and Alison Noble FRS, chaired by Adam Smith.

AI has already contributed to applications across all STEM fields, and in this conversation we look ahead to the ways that AI might transform science in the future.

We will discuss how the scientific community can get the best out of AI, and explore how to meet challenges such as data heterogeneity, transparency, the proprietary nature of AI tools, access to resources and the growing skills gap.

Given the growing demand for science to tackle so many of the problems confronting us, how do we imagine AI’s contribution will help us meet those needs?

Adam Smith, Chief Scientific Officer at Nobel Prize Outreach, will moderate a panel discussion. He will be joined on stage by Paul Nurse FRS, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine; Demis Hassabis FRS, Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2024; and Alison Noble FRS, Technikos Professor of Biomedical Engineering, University of Oxford.
