This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2025.
Explore the remarkable stories of trailblazing scientists Dame Kathleen Lonsdale FRS and Dr Marjory Stephenson FRS - the first women elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society in 1945.
In these short documentaries, Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, space scientist and presenter of the BBC’s The Sky at Night, joins astrophysicist Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell FRS and biochemist Professor Judy Armitage FRS to reflect on the legacy of these pioneering women.
Commissioned by the Royal Society as part of a year-long programme of activities aimed at celebrating, supporting, and inspiring girls and women in STEM, the films will play on a loop throughout the Lates event.
This screening will be held on Tuesday 1 July 2025, 6pm – 10pm.
